The unquestioned King of the region is Nebbiolo, a noble grape variety behind Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero and Northern Piedmont appellations. Alongside Nebbiolo, Barbera shines for its vibrant fruit and freshness, complemented by Dolcetto. White grape varieties feature Arneis, Gavi (Cortese) and Erbaluce, plus Moscato d'Asti and Chardonnay for sparkling wines.
