The Avignonesi winery was founded in 1974 and is located in the Tuscan Vino Nobile DOCG area, in Montepulciano. In 2009, it took a new direction with the purchase of the winery by Virginie Saverys, a Belgian entrepreneur, supported by a team of motivated young people, including agronomist Alessio Gorini and oenologist Matteo Giustiniani. Virginie immediately embraced natural agriculture, adopting an organic and biodynamic approach, in harmony with the environment. This approach is challenging given the winery's 200 hectares of vineyards, but her courage has already yielded excellent results.

The Avignonesi vineyards are divided between eight vineyards in Montepulciano and two in Cortona, with different soils that allow for variety and experimentation in the vineyard.

The winery, located on the Lodola estate, contains both large Slavonian oak barrels and French oak barriques. The vinsantaia, where the Vin Santo and Occhio di Pernice mature in the “caratelli”, is located on the Le Capezzine estate.
