The history of Gianni Gagliardo's wines has ancient roots and dates back to the mid-1800s with the Colla family, one of the oldest and most renowned in Barolo. As time passes, the wines produced by this family become more and more known and fully express the true soul of the territory.

In 1973, with the marriage between Marivanna Colla and Gianni Gagliardo, the winery acquired new creativity and new skills. In fact, Gianni begins to study each plot, learns the characteristics of the soil and the territory, and brings to 11 the vineyards from which the wine is produced which will later take his name.

It is precisely the great variety of terroirs from which the grapes of the Poderi di Gianni Gagliardo wines come that is the unique characteristic of the flavor and aromas of these bottles. These are 11 small plots, for a total of 30 hectares of vineyards, scattered between the municipalities of La Morra, Barolo, Monforte d'Alba and Serralunga d'Alba as regards the Barolo area and the municipality of Monticello d'Alba in Roero.
