The small family-run winery Bonavita operates in the territory of Faro, in the province of Messina. Officially founded in 2004, the year in which Giovanni Scarfone took over the winemaking legacy of his grandfather, who had long been committed to producing wine in this corner of paradise in north-eastern Sicily. It was while helping his grandfather in the vineyard during the hot summers that Giovanni developed a strong passion for the world of wine, a passion that led the future producer to enroll in agricultural school to study oenology. For years, the Scarfone family made wine in a sort of garage located below the family home, before later inaugurating the new winery, where Bonavita wines come to life today.

The Bonavita estate has just 3 hectares of vineyards, arranged on natural terraces that form a beautiful amphitheater overlooking the Strait of Messina and grows the local varieties Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Nocera.
