Then I had to deal with reality, with the exorbitant costs of vineyards, cellar construction, and other unpleasant things.

In short, it was an insurmountable dream, especially for someone coming from the other side of Europe.

Talking with my friend Kurt, an excellent drinking companion, chatterbox, and advice giver, who has taught me a lot over the years, we found a small path to follow, allowing me to realize this dream.

Idnina (from the Macedonian иднина, meaning future) was born from the dream of being able to express my vision of wine, helped by Kurt, who allows me to do small-scale winemaking in his cellar.

I classify myself as a negociant, a figure as famous as he is important in some wine-growing areas of the world, who purchases grapes or wine, completes the winemaking process according to his own ideas, and offers his own wine to the market. Interpretation of wine.

Fortunately, in all these years working in the wine world, I've had the opportunity to meet winemakers, oenologists, cellar masters, and consultants, whose advice is enabling me to continue Idnina. Many of these people have become friends.

No, I won't be the typical outsider who buys pre-bottled wine, slaps on his own label, and goes around talking about how difficult the vintage was despite never having set foot in the vineyard or cellar, only to then sell the wine at a price significantly higher than average, simply because the wines from our area are sought-after and known throughout the world. I won't take advantage of the work, the effort, and the sacrifices of those who have done so much for these areas over the years, but I will take small steps at a time to gain some space, fully respecting what these wonderful hills represent.
