The Elio Perrone winery represents one of the finest examples of winemaking in Lower Piedmont. This excellence is achieved thanks to the meticulous attention to detail the winery invests throughout the entire production process, from the vineyard to the cellar, earning it the nickname "enological tailoring." The Perrone family has been dedicated to viticulture since the late 19th century, when the ancestors of Stefano, Elio's son and current owner, cultivated Moscato grapes in the hills of Castiglione Tinella, in the province of Cuneo.
The estate's 17-hectare varietals include Moscato Bianco, Barbera, Brachetto, and Chardonnay. The vineyards, located approximately 360 meters above sea level, are spread across two distinct zones: one around the historic site and dedicated to Moscato and sweet sparkling wines, and the other in Isola d'Asti, where Barbera reigns supreme. The harvest period is carefully chosen to achieve the right balance and perfect harmony in maturation. After the vinification and subsequent aging phases, the bottles can be released for sale, but this only happens when Stefano and his team deem them truly ready.
What inspires and guides the production is the desire to never create banal wines, whether made from the traditional Barbera and Moscato grape varieties or those made from international varieties. In any case, these are interpretations of great class and charm, with labels designed by Giuliana, Stefano's wife.
