Originally born as Fratelli Dabbene, the headquarters of the winery was founded at the end of the eighteenth century, with the house still inhabited by the current owners. Clementina, the last heir of the Dabbene family, married Carlo Alessandria in 1893, marking the handover: although the nickname "Prinsiòt", little prince, suggests that he was an only child, the winery's sign changed to Fratelli Alessandria. Gian Battista, together with his brother Alessandro and his wife Flavia, represents the seventh generation of the family, while his son Vittore, the eighth generation of winemakers, has already entered the business.
The heritage of Fratelli Alessandria is represented by the vineyards that extend over an area of approximately 15 hectares, divided among the most suitable areas of the Verduno territory: Monvigliero can rightly be considered the Grand Cru of the municipality, composed of a pure expression of the marl of Sant'Agata Fossils. San Lorenzo, Rocche dell'Olmo and Pisapola are all cultivated with Nebbiolo, while on the slopes of Neirane, Campasso and Riva Rocca Dolcetto, Barbera and the emblematic Pelaverga appear. Moving to the municipality of Monforte d'Alba you come across the Nebbiolo and Barbera di Gramolere plot. The cellar operations are extremely traditional, with prolonged fermentations and macerations, refinements in large Slavonian barrels and long rests in the bottle.
