Domaine Ligier Macvin du Jura Blanc Vino Liquoroso 75 cl

Macvin du Jura is a sweet French fortified wine produced in the Jura region, near Burgundy and the Swiss border. It is a rather unique speciality, officially recognised with AOC status since 1991.

It is neither a traditional dessert wine nor a sweet wine made from dried grapes.

It is produced by blending:

• Approximately 2/3 fresh grape must, generally unfermented.

• Approximately 1/3 Marc du Jura, a spirit distilled from grape pomace.

The addition of the spirit prevents or stops fermentation, preserving the grapes' natural sugars.

The wine is then aged for at least 12 months in oak barrels.
