The Sardus Pater Winery is located on the island of Sant’Antioco, in the south-western part of Sardinia. Established in 1949 as a cooperative, it began its activity in 1955. Over the years, the production of wines has been refined and has focused above all on the enhancement of the Carignano grape variety.

The grapes, supplied by the 200 members, come from a vineyard area of ​​300 hectares. They are vineyards of at least 50 years, planted on sandy soils with low yields per hectare that produce grapes of absolute quality. The real secret of this soil is that it makes the plants resistant to phylloxera. Thus, the vines of the Winery are among the very few in Europe not grafted. The vineyard produces no more than 40-50 quintals per hectare: less than a kilo per plant.

From the 1994 harvest, the winery began producing Vermentino. There is also a small but carefully produced Moscato and Nasco, from ungrafted vineyards, and Monica and Cannonau grapes.
